Extremely communicative. Communication has been top notch, which is greatly appreciated, especially when compared to other daycares. The organization really cares and listens to our concerns as parents, and we’ve never felt judged or afraid to speak up or question things when it came to our daughter’s care.

The teachers are so caring, kind and engaging and the communication between staff and parents was great. I always felt we could reach out to the Tinycare team and expect quick answers and feedback. We also really appreciated how they handled the entire COVID-19 situation.

Sarah

Hello! I am the Head Teacher at Mission Bay Toddler. I’ve been working as an Early Childhood Educator for nine years. I started off working at a low income family daycare as an assistant teacher. It was there that I fell in love with caregiving and decided to pursue a career in Early Childhood.

After working in a large center as a Lead Teacher for the last five years, Tinycare has been a perfect fit for my strengths and past experiences. In my free time I love traveling and simple road trips. I also enjoy cooking, baking, and going to the beach.

Joanna

Hello! My name is Joanna Blas. I’m from Saipan, a really small island in the Northern Mariana Islands. I recently graduated from the University of San Francisco with my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. During undergraduate school, I was enrolled in the Dual Degree Teaching Program. I was able to take teaching classes as well as begin Student Teaching. In the fall, I will be back at USF’s School of Education to pursue my Masters of Art in Teaching.

My hobbies and interests include reading (fiction, romance, young adult, crime, mystery, suspense, thriller) and watching the sunset. Growing up on an island, the beach and the sunset were two of the most consistent things in my life and since moving to San Francisco, I have made promises to myself that they would continue to be constants in my life. Lastly, I love music. I feel that it pushes me to be super productive. I’m always on the hunt for new music!

The first time I worked with kids was in my freshman year of high school, and since then, I haven’t changed my mind about wanting to pursue this career. Childcare is one of the most exciting and fulfilling jobs. As for teaching style, I am extremely observant and detail oriented which helps me to see what areas I can work on and what areas the kids would like to go back to, or would like to see more of. I also am open to feedback because it helps to inform my teaching. Additionally, I believe in building good relationships with the kids, parents, and my colleagues because of how crucial good relationships are when it comes to teaching. I can’t wait to gain new experiences and broaden my knowledge as I step into the position of Head Teacher in Training!

Meet Our Head of Education

Adam

I am Tinycare’s Head of Education, and focus on supporting our teaching teams and family communities across our network. Prior to joining Tinycare in 2020, I was previously an elementary school principal and instructional superintendent, where I worked on innovative school models. My wife and I have a 9 month old at home, so I my focus on early childhood and reaching developmental milestones extends beyond my professional role!
