Our approach

We nurture a love of learning in everything we do — from the teachers we hire to the toys in our classrooms. A warm, intentional setting makes all the difference.

Our Montessori and Reggio-Emilia inspired program offers a 3:1 student-teacher ratio, music and movement, and regular teacher COVID-19 testing.

Calvin

I’m the Head Teacher at the Eureka Valley Preschool program and Mentor Teacher of the Tinycare programs in San Francisco. I have 10+ years of experience working with children and 3 years as a lead teacher. I started my career volunteering at my local church to teach Korean to our elementary students when I was in 6th grade up until I left for college. I studied Music Composition & Performance at UC Berkeley and began teaching music at various underfunded schools to children as young as 10 months to 12 years old. I then went on to receive multiple ECE units as I began to transition to lead teaching in preschools at various non profits in the city. My main goal as a teacher is to accommodate each student’s unique needs while sparking a lifelong curiosity of learning.

Maddy

My name is Maddy, and I am so happy to be the Head Teacher in Training with Calvin and be part of the Tinycare family!

After I graduated college I decided to take some time to travel. I lived in London for about 2 years and backpacked. Traveling gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in other cultures and I got to pursue my passion working with kids as an online English teacher through the program GOGOKIDS.

I love being able to practice Montessori based teaching where it gives the students the chance to practice hands-on learning, collaborative play, and child-led activities. Another important part of teaching for me is incorporating emotional activities so kids can understand their emotions better. It is so important to make sure each student feels challenged enough but also to make it a safe, playful, and exciting environment for everyone.

Our Head of Education

Adam

I am Tinycare’s Head of Education, and focus on supporting our teaching teams and family communities across our network. Prior to joining Tinycare in 2020, I was previously an elementary school principal and instructional superintendent, where I worked on innovative school models. My wife and I have a 9 month old at home, so I my focus on early childhood and reaching developmental milestones extends beyond my professional role!
